Kick-off of the 3rd 2018/19 Shell inter-school competition - "Make the Future"

The answers to the energy challenges of tomorrow lie in the power of human ingenuity. That is why Shell’s Rhineland Refinery has joined the global Shell #makethefuture initiative under the local RHEINLAND sign. For Dr. Jan Zeese, Head of Communication at Shell RR, the key to shaping our future is to be found in the various young, creative minds: “We would like to turn the Rhineland into a motor generating the future, into a region that develops new, creative ideas relating to energy supplies for tomorrow’s cities. That is why we have initiated a competition of ideas!”

Incidentally, this is actually the Shell Rhineland Refinery’s third consecutive inter-school competition. And welcome is, once again, onboard too when it comes to conceptional and organizational matters. The kick-off has now been staged in the hall of the Nicolaus-August-Otto Vocational College, involving students from 8 schools of the Rhineland area together with their teachers. The task for the competition was presented and the various school teams got acquainted with their Shell mentors. We wish all the teams plenty of ideas, ingenuity and creativity in matters of design. We’ll meet again in the grand finale just ahead of the 2019 summer break.
