The 2nd Structural Change Conference of the Düren local government district, organised by the district Innovation and Change Office and held in a hybrid format at the Düren Convention Centre on 19 August 2020, was once again an unqualified success. 

This year’s event featured the motto “Growing together – to grow together”. It was conducted for the first time in a hybrid format under the charming and competent moderation of public broadcasting personality Nina Lindlahr. In addition to the 100 participants who turned up for the corona-compliant in-person conference, many more streamed the proceedings online. Right from the start, both the online and in-person audiences had the opportunity to actively contribute questions, suggestions and statements using the audience interaction tool Sli.do.

Wide-ranging talks, exciting video clips, entertaining panel discussions and interactive voting formats made for a lively two-hour programme that absolutely captivated both the in-person and remote audiences. This hybrid live event format was a complete success and an example of pure, undiluted community. Or to put it in the terms of the conference motto: Growing together always means growing beyond ourselves.
