This year, thanks to the expert support of welcome GmbH, the Zeulenroda Conference for Orthopaedics and Sport Orthopaedics took place as an outdoor function with 250 persons – a unique first in Germany. 

At the end of August, the 11th Conference for Orthopaedics and Sport Orthopaedics (ZKOS for short) was held with the support of welcome Veranstaltungsgesellschaft. In May 2020, the decision was taken to carry on with the conference in spite of the corona situation – but this time as an outdoor event on a large floating platform with a magnificent view of Zeuleroda lake, instead of in the rooms of the Bio-Hotel. 

For us, this meant completely re-imagining the entire conference on extremely short notice, not only in terms of technical aspects and the overall setup, but primarily with regard to the applicable distance and hygiene regulations. We worked flat-out to draft new plans, revise schedules and prepare concepts – and in the end, all that dedication paid off: the result was a unique – and uniquely successful – medical conference! 

We are already looking forward to next year’s event – once again in the fresh air!
